…to serve our community in love through caring ministry,
as we listen, encourage, and respect people so that the lost will be changed by the gospel

As a community of faith, we seek to serve our community and reach people with the gospel. We have been commissioned to go. Matthew 28:19-20 (ESV) 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Taking the gospel message across the street and to the ends of the earth is our ultimate goal. We want to see lives changed by transforming power of the gospel. We believe this happens in the context of gospel-focused service. Ministry and missions are separate activities, yet they are both means to share the gospel.

We want to serve our community in love. We are reminded in 1 John 3:18 (ESV) Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth. Love in action. We are to be the hands and feet of Jesus in the world. In Matthew 25:31-46, Jesus gives us a glimpse of the final judgment. He separates those who know Him (the righteous), from those who do not. Listen to what Jesus said made the difference, Matthew 25:35-37a, 40 (ESV) 35 For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, 36 I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ 37 Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when…’? 40 And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’

Paul reminds the church in Galatians 5:13-14 (ESV) 13 “… through love serve one another. 14 For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
