…to know Jesus Christ as Lord by exalting Him in worship
God reminds us in Isaiah 43:21 (ESV) we are, “the people whom I formed for myself that they might declare my praise.” In 1 Peter 2:9 (ESV) But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. We were created to worship God.
As a community of faith (those who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ), we seek to worship and praise our Savior, Jesus Christ. Why is this important? First, worship is our response to all that God has done in our lives. Second, as we worship God is present. Psalms 22:3 (ESV) says, “Yet you are holy, enthroned on the praises of Israel.” As we worship and exalt Christ we do so in the presence of God. Jesus said in John 12:32 (ESV) “And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.” It is through our worship that we seek to know God and others are drawn to Him.
Psalms 100:1-5 (ESV) 1 Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth! 2 Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing! 3 Know that the Lord, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. 4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! 5 For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.
Our worship services are designed to help you know Christ.
